Doriene Marselje and Tony Roe present a programme for harp, piano and live electronics centred around Roe’s composition cycle Interference. Originally written for Marselje, the work draws inspiration from Curaçaoan rhythms, hip-hop basslines and a shared fascination with sound, resonance and transformation.
Starting from the acoustic sound of harp and piano, the duo opens up a wider sonic landscape through electronics and analogue effects. Delicate resonances, rhythmic patterns and unexpected shifts in texture emerge as the instruments interact with live processing and improvisation.
The result is music that moves fluidly between composed material and spontaneous invention, creating a rich and constantly changing dialogue between acoustic and electronic sound.
